Last Friday we headed back to Storm Lake. This trip to SL was our second in the month of June which is quite monumental since we're normally in SL two times a year (but luckily see Barb and Jer much more in Des Moines and trips to KC).
This trip was made possible by yet another inspiring parent figure for me. Our family friends the Robinson's celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary! Their daughters, Jen and Wendy, surprised them with an amazing surprise party. They pulled out all the stops. Not only did they figure out a way to get their parents to SL but had a replica of their wedding cake and enlarged pictures from their wedding day.

Last night Nate stayed overnight with us for the first time. I've been waiting since the day he was born for this night; and it was as fun as I knew it would be!
He was the ideal guest...ate very little; was entertained by everyday objects; laughed at all of our jokes and antics; smiled a lot and slept all night until 9:00 am!
Here's Nate hanging out his in pack 'n play watching race cars go round the track on TV. We had a cheer we kept going for a strong 15-20 minutes.
After dinner we went to my company's family fun night! Nate jumped on the moon walk (he looks like he's in playland jail):
We got tons of fun goodies and then attempted to leave.
Three times up the hill and three times running or rolling down the hill!
Down the hill... And up the hill...
The two boys were showing Nate how to roll down the hill (he followed instructions very well)...
Friday night we headed down the block to our neighborhood watering hole with our neighbors Scott and Kellie. They have been promoting their newly remodeled patio as "Jimmy Buffetville". I don't know about that, but it's a great to have a place like this a mere block from our house!
Did I mention it was also Cuervo night at The Sider?
From what I understand, when most people retire from teaching they receive a stepping stone. When Barb retired last month, the school district presented her with a huge rock inscribed with "Seiler".
I think you all agree that Barb is always a steady force in our lives regardless of the situation.
I know I feel blessed to have her as my mother-in-law.
To celebrate Barb's retirement from teaching and Jerry and Barb's 41st anniversary among other things the Seilers celebrated with over 300 friends and family HOG style!
Here are a few photos of the celebration that was the talk of the town (it was even on the radio!):
The highlights of the hog roast from Julie's point-of-view:
1. Andy's love of everyone calling his brother by his first and last name, "Steve Seiler".
2. Julie celebrating her 30th birthday an entire year early. But the cake was oh so good!
3. Ty sneaking out of his pack-n-play, emptying the contents of his mom's purse and downing an entire pack of Trident in his little mouth.
4. Julie's boyfriend, Josh, managing to pass out BEFORE the party even started. This was also the first time meeting the family! *** Sorry, no pictures of Josh. He must have been resting. ****
In all honesty, we were happy his was there!
5. Beth and Megan's worthlessness on the "work" front (kidding). Two words: SHED FLOOR!
6. Bernie downing a 40-oz. Blue Smoothie!
7. Mom not knowing several people at her own party!
8. Jamie's grandparent's rolling in the middle of the hog roast with a RV the size of the morton building; hooked er' up and camped right there!
