Where's Waldo?

When I walked in the door last night from Jazzercise, Steve had this week's INK newspaper open with photo circled.

It was a photo of the Nadas from Saturday night with Barb and me in the background!

Do you see us? I don't know how he did...

A pic from Ink's website. Barb and I had a few people with big cameras photograph us. Amazingly, our husbands magically disappeared whenever a camera appeared.

Party Arty

I am going to talk about our weekend in reverse, because these pictures are handy.

Saturday night we spent a fun evening with the Friedman's at Party Arty which was at the Nelson-Atkins Museum.

It all started when I found out the Nadas were playing which was an Iowa State band. Since all four of us went to Iowa State. And Since none of us knew each other at Iowa State, who knows, maybe we all watched the Nadas at the same time one time?

The Nadas.

Barb and me in our twinkie dresses and twinkie blonde hair color.

This is a model from the fashion show but we are covering her wings. Plus, she apparently cheated and had a spray tan in January, so I'm glad we're covering her wings. Because otherwise, she's way too cute.

It's nice that Steve poses with someone. I'll take what I can get :)

A blurry shot of the four of us. I swear Steve that I have not dropped this camera.

Charlie Hoopers!

A week ago Friday our friend, AZ, came over and we walked down the street to Charlie Hoopers. We have a mutual friend in Lisa, so she joined in on the festivities and we had a F-U-N and funny night.

Winnetonka High!

Lisa and me.

There are at least 10-pictures on Lisa's camera of Steve alluding the camera.

Splits on the way out.

35 is Fine

Today is our sister-in-law, Ann's birthday!

She is a young 35-years old with six weeks to go of hanging out with Baby Boy Book 24/7 (I realize even after, she'll be hanging out with him 23/7 for quite a while).

14 of us will be celebrating Ann's birthday tonight at 75th Street Brewery in Waldo which seems a bit backwards since she cannot partake in their specialties. But I guess it's fitting since Steve Seiler, Ann and I went to the same brewery the night Steve and I found out she was pregnant with Nate.

Ann is a good sport like that.

Ann is not only our sister-in-law, but she is one of my best friends and is definitely buddies with Steve. I swear he talks to her more than he talks to me!

Mr. Clean

Not only did I come home to a working computer after being gone for a couple of days, but Steve also completely:
  • organized and cleaned the bathroom drawers
  • organized the hall closet drawers
  • gathered all our old cell phones and batteries and printed off something so we can send them to a military fund
  • put a photo of lil' Nate and me in a picture frame and displayed it in the kitchen
  • and who knows what else...

I know he really doesn't want me to leave, but when he does things like this it's almost as though he is begging me to leave for a night or two. He does love his alone time...

Just Call Him "Mr. IT"

I was out of town the other night when I received a text from Steve informing me he was looking at Google within the four walls of our home. And it only took him 50-hours.

I am very grateful and happy as I was very close to developing self-induced carpal tunnel syndrome from using my phone for all things Internet the past month.

Just as we were discussing purchasing a new computer due to the above malfunction...Steve Seiler to the rescue!

Trio of Children

It was one thing when a few friends starting having children, because they only had one so there's wasn't really a big stretch between being married with a child and between Steve and I playing house for a trillion years before even getting engaged.

But then all of these friends starting having two kids. And now we're at three.

Thank god I don't have a strong motherly instinct or I could really be depressed right about now at 34-years and 10-months (to the day, by the way).

But we love all of our family (obsessed with all things nephews) and our friend's kids. It's cliche' but we really have the best of both worlds at this point because I get to be excited for them, post their baby pictures on our blog, play with them and then decide at 4:30 p.m. to go to happy hour.

Without further ado...my old roommate and close friend, Lisa, and Scott just had bambino #3! They are in St. Louis but hopefully I'll get to meet Kara sometime this spring or early summer because she is so adorably cute!

Those Seilers Love Tazzles

Last Thursday night, Steve and I went to his company's holiday party (stock brokers must like to extend the holiday season).

It was in a beautiful oak-laden room on the top floor of the Intercontinental Hotel on the plaza with an unbelievable view of the plaza lights (and including both of our office buildings - we seriously can never get away).

The ladies that work in Steve's office love to get their hands on me and talk about Steve. Oh, how they love everything Steve Seiler!

For obvious reasons, I have never been shy about answering any Steve Seiler questions they may have.

I got a call from Steve a couple days later informing me that when he walked into his office after a meeting, hanging from his door was a banner with streamers that said, "Razzle Tazzles"!

They apparently latched on and ran with me telling them about Steve being a bouncer at Tazzles in college. Getting that call from Steve and hearing his voice when he was telling me about it was like pure joy to my ears. These are the moments I truly love.

Note: When you click on the Tazzles link it takes you to a Sports Illustrated story about an Iowa State football player in 1992 named Man Seiler who liked to go to Tazzles. Besides the fact I didn't know anything ISU ever made it into Sports Illustrated, it's by chance this "man's" last name is Seiler and that he liked going to Tazzles after a game. I hope we're related to him because Man is a stellar first name.

Napa Friends in KC!

One of my closest friends, Michelle, was back in KC from Napa Valley for Christmas. So last Friday night the Bomb Squad got together to celebrate!

I would be Suzy Homemaker's best friend because I'd never be in her way.

Steve and David (Michelle's fiance') reminising at 75th Street Brewery about when they met as seatmates on a bus.

I can't describe how wonderful it was to see Michelle!

The Bomb Squad sporting our eco-friendly bags.

The happily engaged couple and their "wine" engagement present from me. Since they live in Napa and Michelle works for a winery, I know they have very limited access to wine accessories.

The Jones soda that includes a picture of the four of us last Spring at a beach in northern Cali.

The Bomb Squad + 1 at Reverse on the plaza.

I had participating in drinking two regular size bottles of this the past two evenings, so it was fitting it appeared next to me at Reverse.

Book Family Christmas on NYE

Steve, Ann and Nate spent Christmas in Phoenix with Ann's mom, so the Book's celebrated Christmas on NYE night at our house.

Nate is obsessed with taking pictures. Unbeknownst to him at this time, he had a camera of his own wrapped under the tree.

Nate was not thrilled not to behind the camera.

Nate's favorite show...the cat and the mouse. Before, it was only at Uncle Steve and Aunt Beth's house. But now Nate owns an entire DVD of Tom and Jerry. After he opened it, he started marching around the house singing, "Tom and Jerry, Tom and Jerry".

Nate serving a present to grandma.

Oh the suspense!

Nate having an animated conversation with Uncle Steve.

A fisherman pot holder. Two of Steve's favorite things together.

Pretty in pink from Steve, Ann and Nate.

Courtesy of the Pocahontas Casey's last summer on my way up to Okoboji.

Note my brother's face trying to corral Nate.

The Steve's with my brother's new short sleeve Wichita Shockers warm-up jacket. It even opens in the back for some reason. Steve Seiler was quite proud of this purchase.

What kid wouldn't love watching this?

Last spurt of 2008 energy!

In Memory

When I woke up New Year's Day, I read a blog post from a friend who grew up in a neighboring town (St. Charles) from me. We had recently gotten back in touch.

Lesa and her two little girls, suddenly lost her husband and their father, Jeff, on New Year's Eve. They were high school sweethearts and, as shown by her blog posts, very in love and wonderful parents to their two girls.

I realize many of you don't know them, but please keep Lesa and her two daughters in your thoughts and prayers today, tomorrow and the next day.

No WWW at the Seiler Household

We have been without an Internet connection the past couple of weeks (and still are without) at home, so to my relatives with a "mother" in their name, my apologies for the lack of posts.

If you would have taught your children to be more IT savvy, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess.

I'm completely kind of joking. But I do wish we could figure it out, because everyone knows Steve has to work on something a minimum of 100-hours before he waves the red flag for professional help!
